Eco-Rangers MMO ( 2008 – 2010 ) by Monimonsu Ltd

Request link from: lauri.hosio@gmail.com

Eco-Rangers is a big MMO game for kids. You play as one of the Eco-Rangers and help animals and the environment. There’s a lot of minigames and missions and a big world to explore.

I was a client-side (Flash) programmer on this project for almost two years. I was responsible for the programming of most of the minigames and a lot of the features in the game world itself. Includes realtime 3D characters, chat, quests, anything you can expect from a MMO!

One of the minigames I worked on, Deep Sea Expedition. In this game you collect the polluting barrels from the sea-floor and try to avoid sharks and other deep sea creatures.

Internal training tool / aggregator for a big sports utilities company ( 2010 – 2011 )

I developed a Flash and PHP based website for training and aggregating the results of all the employees. The site currently has 8 different languages (including Chinese and support for other languages that require special treatment). All the content is easily editable through XML without touching the code. Every country has its own localized version.

The site is used to launch all the training applications and to keep track of your progress and to compare how you’re doing against others.

Whiflash ( 2008 )

PLAY IT HERE

Whiflash was a bit too ambitious Experimental Action RPG. You play as a flail wielding golem and you have to thwart the evil creatures from overrunning your country. The game is huge but not quite as polished as I would’ve liked. Still I’m glad I got it finished and released. It won the 5th place on Mochi Medias Walk of Fame contest.

This was also a solo project so everything except a few bigger images were made by me.

Technologies:

  • ActionScript 3

Ragdoll Goalkeeper ( 2009 )

PLAY IT HERE

Ragdoll Goalkeeper was a quick and fun highscore game to make. You throw the goalkeeper ragdoll around with your mouse and try to catch the balls for as long as you can. It also uses box2d for the physics. It has been well received and has over 5 million plays so far.

This was a solo project.
